Just A Cappella are a Hemel Hempstead based choir singing 4 part harmony arrangements – anything from Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” through to Nat King Cole’s “Autumn Leaves” with Ed Sheeran; Earth, Wind and Fire; Queen and Joe Jackson in between.
We also love ‘Let it Snow’!! ⛄️❄️🎶
Our performances are usually 10-12 numbers. We rehearse our repertoire extensively, under the direction of Ben Cox, our Musical Director, so that we are word, note and rhythm perfect before we are performance ready.
Meet Ben Cox, our Musical Director as he answers questions from the choir
Our first 2020 ‘Lockdown project’ Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” all recorded in the comfort of our own homes and compiled by our Musical Director, Ben Cox
Introducing Joanne, our Music Liaison Officer (and one of our Sopranos). Find out how she balances singing with Just A Cappella whilst being a Mum and working in the NHS.
Introducing Mark, Our Public Relations Officer (and one of our Basses). Find out how he fits singing with Just A Cappella into his retirement, which started at the end of 2018.
Introducing Amanda, our Performance Secretary (and one of our Altos). Find out how she fits singing with Just A Cappella into her retirement, which started in 2014, as well as being a Mum to 2 grown up children.
Our second 2020 ‘Lockdown project’ Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain” again, all recorded in the comfort of our own homes and directed, compiled and masterminded by our Musical Director, Ben Cox
Our third 2020 ‘Lockdown project’ Paul Langford’s arrangement of “This Christmas” featuring 2 other choirs: Take 20 and Jazz choirs. All recorded in the comfort of our own homes (which we’re starting to get used to – but would prefer to be back singing together in the Leverstock Green Hall) and of course chosen, directed, compiled and beautifully masterminded by our Musical Director: Ben Cox
