We are an award winning vocal group based in Hemel Hempstead. Blending the voices of men and women in close unaccompanied harmony, we sing popular songs from the 1930’s through to the 21st Century.
Linda has been Chairman for just two years and this year JAC celebrated its 14th birthday. She joined over 12 years ago when it had just a handful of singers and has been delighted to see the chorus numbers steadily grow to its present 28.
She loves singing which has been her main hobby for many years, mostly in musical theatre, so she came to the a cappella style of singing quite late. She accepts it is a challenge to commit all the words and music to memory but one which enables JAC better to communicate with the audience.
She is proud to be a member of JAC and wants to see it get even better and to reach an even larger audience in the coming years.

Apart from being in the school choir, Marian didn’t start singing until after her retirement. She has been with the group almost 10 years and is the leader of our thriving alto section.
Her working background is administration and marketing, and she puts these skills to good use booking and looking after the group performances, and producing publicity leaflets and posters.
Music has always played a huge part in Denise’s life from joining the school choir, then the Church choir. She sang many times with her dad who was a Tenor and her brother Paul who sang bass.
She has been a member of Just a Cappella since it started 14 years ago and after the retirement of the founder in 2013, she became Musical Director.
She has gained considerable experience within the Barbershop family for over 20 years, having competed in medal winning choruses and quartets. She completed an Open University course in 1992 in music theory and continues to develop her skills by attending various workshops and educational courses.
